Nantucket AIDS Network Appoints New Board President

April 15, 2011 - Nantucket AIDS Network (NAN), the Island's Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS and hepatitis services, announced today the appointment of Kevin A Marshall to President, CEO of the NAN Board of Directors.

Mr. Marshall has been an active member of the NAN Board for the past 3 years, Clerk for 2 years, and leader of the Youth PPAA Board Level Team for 2 years. He graduated from Fisher College with a degree in Criminal Justice and came to the Island in 2002 to join the Nantucket Police Department. He currently holds rank of Sergeant with the Department.

"Kevin has the character, skill sets and energy required to lead the organization in its 3rd decade of excellence" said Dr Meg Blair, Interim President of the organization. "We have observed Kevin's commitment and accomplishments over the past few years, and are delighted that he has accepted the responsibility of our Chief Executive".

"I am honored to have been chosen for this important role", said Marshall "and look forward to working with our strong team of staff, volunteers and active Board members to ensure that NAN continues to provide and improve the quality of care and education that the community has come to expect from the organization."

At the same time, the Board appointed Francesca Ifantiedes, Executive Director since 2008, to Executive Director, COO and officer of the organization.

"Francesca epitomizes the role of Chief Operating Officer, and her title will now reflect it", said Blair. "She and Kevin have a clear vision of NAN's future in serving the health and human services needs of the Nantucket community, and they are the team leaders who can guide us there".
